BLACK WOMEN IN HISTORY

January 1-31, 2017
Politics have overshadowed the start of the year and our country is in complete disarray but we can't retreat and allow the circumstances and pressures of life beat us up. Push forward to your mark of excellence and continue to be the striving force in your community and love the family and friends that surround you. Our nation will rise above the hypocrisy and we will do it together as women. Our President Donald J. Trump has to stay in our prayers and although we may not all agree with his principles and definitely not his policies but we must operate in one way and that’s in, “ Love” .

Introducing the Conspiracy Theory
Black Lives Matter
The murders of both African-American men and women were a common discussion on the nightly news, leaving 2015 with a damaged taint. We sat horror-struck as the unwarranted murders of our people by law enforcement became a daily occurrence. The deaths of blacks are seen as a minor inconvenience in our free nation, as those of a lower socio-economic stand place are viewed as expendable, being black just adds to the non-chalet-ness of the shootings. No longer do we smell strange fruit from southern trees, but the killings of blacks is conducted publicly, blatantly, often recorded for the world to see. The  smell of rotten police officers is the Rhythm of our Nation. What must be done for this to cease, what can be done? We must continue to forge the legacy of our ancestors and teach our children the importance of legal rights and respecting the law. We achieve emancipation through education, for it is an intelligent black race that they are truly afraid of. Why else was it outlawed to teach a slave how to read and write? Although the circumstances change, we still aren't allowed the privilege of dropping our 'weapon' and surrendering. Shoot first and be placed on paid administrative leave later is a common reoccurrence in recent years. Principles of negotiation are set aside, operation Kill a Black Man is set in motion. What will 2017 bring us and how will the Black Lives Matter movement progress? As of now, the BLM movement is ignored by everyone else unless they are black and that must change.
